I’m excited to begin recording the songs for my 3rd EP “Look up and see” and as always, God is a master planner and does everything exactly on time! This year, He has given me new songs to help us all remain fixed on the hope of His coming, the power of His word and the greatness of His love for us.
As things heat up around the world and at home, I see Christians under increasing pressure to conform to the standards of the world. If you watch the news for any length of time you could be tempted to be discouraged by the seeming advance of darkness all around us and wonder what it’s all about. Is it God’s love to disagree with people but stay silent in order to keep the peace? Will doing so draw people to the life-giving power of Christ?
I don’t believe so – in fact for us to stay silent is to hate people by with-holding the power of the truth from them. So, although it is costing the church more dearly each year to remain true to the word of God and hold onto salvation in Christ Jesus…. we are also seeing many, many people set free through God’s power!
The bible is really clear and also vastly encouraging on all these topics – Jesus Himself prayed for us in John 17: 14-18 “I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.”
Our key to standing in these difficult days is to rely more heavily upon the truth that we are one in spirit with our Lord Jesus. We are like Him and so He upholds us with His power as we continue to recognise with greater measure how He keeps His word to sustain those He loves.
We are NOT like the world, nor to let ourselves be confirmed to the world’s way of Godless thinking and believing…but instead to be a shining light in the darkness, holding out the Gospel of life so that those trapped in the darkness of this dead world can be made free. (Rom 12:2, Matt 5:16)
So, recording has begun and I’m hoping to release this EP very early in 2019. There are going to be some pre-release deals and ways you can get involved later this year…so stay tuned to find out more as things develop. Check out the photos of us in the studio below!
